Like your blog doc. Blogs will change medicine and the rest of the world and they will change it for the better. Practitioners on all levels will know more inside baseball and will learn things that cannot or should not be discussed in the hospital. Phony administrators and poor decision making will be more and more difficult to hide. Yes, I believe your generation will have a much better career than mine. I will retire soon. Hope you’ll visit my site some time.

Hey Doc – really enjoying the blog. I’m a doc as well (Internal Medicine, in Calif) and always enjoy seeing things from the perspective of my Emergency Med colleagues. I’ve added you to my blogroll as well

    :-)

You’re on my blog roll too!

I think this is appropriate for the “about” section:

    I don’t think you’re a weenie. ;-)

May I ask who the author of this lovely site is?

    Dear Ten out of Ten,
I am an internist with a medical news website, Hot Medical News http://hotmedicalnews.com which your readers may be interested in.
If you agree, perhaps you could link to my site.

Thanks for your time and consideration.

    Sincerely,

    Brian Carty, MD, MSPH

Although you probably won’t take this seriously, I would really like to thank you. This being the first medblog I’d ever read, you have inspired me to keep pursuing my dream of going into medicine. I’d like to study to become a paramedic, and hopefully medblogs like this one will continue to keep that dream alive until I’m old enough to go to college.

    Thanks Again,
    Cody

I stumbled on your blog after searching “so give up”. Like the saying goes, it was like “a book you can’t put down”. In 2 days, I started with your 08/06/28 post and read everything to 07/03/04. The next time I have to see a doctor, I’ll try extra hard to be nice to them. Thanks for the posts. I’ll check back in a few days for something new.

I love your stories from work. They make me laugh most of the time. :)

I look forward to reading more.

  12. Found your blog last night- read it for about 2 hours. Quality writing, interesting stories, a great sense of humor, what more could one ask for from a blog? Keep up the good work.

I have two questions for a medical survey I’m working on. It’s to see whether the medical condition PCOS can cause premature birth. You can send me the results at Cody_m170@yahoo.com.

    1) Do you think that the hormonal levels of a womens’ estrogen and testosterone are enough to effect childbirth?

    2) What do you think a womens’ estrogen and testosterone levels should be, a) before pregnancy and b) during pregnancy.

This would be a great help if you could answer.

  16. [...] Ten out of Ten – Someone else whom I don’t really know but whose blog I enjoy reading. He’s an ER generalist, probably far to busy and or important to bother participating in something as frivolous as this. [...]

Uhm, as you can see by that pingback, I tagged you for one of those things. Feel free to ignore it, but if not the link is here. Apologies if this is all too intrusive.

  18. Cherry Cola Says:

this blog made me realize that there could actually be doctors out there that aren’t arrogant. it sucks that they don’t work at our hospital though.

If we worked together, I bet we would get along. Makes me feel better about sending my patients to the ER with a harried pre-arrival call…feels like someone with a good sense of humor might be on the other end of the phone.

Yr blog is hilarious. Best served cold on a full moon night shift such as tonight. Clearly your talents are wasted as a mere MD. Start writing and remember us pit docs when you’re rich and famous :)
