The last three 2-year-old’s I’ve seen have:
-swallowed half a bottle of fish bowl cleaner
-swallowed two tacks
-knocked the lid off a toilet, then walked over the porcelain shards gashing their foot
They also don’t like to say “ah.”

FISHBOWL cleaner?! You’d think that would taste horrible! Why on earth would the kid chug half a bottle?

Let us not forget those who swallow nickels and put gummy bears up their nose.
Gummy bears and Jelly Bellies do NOT do well in a warm, moist environment. Better it be a Lego.
Legos don’t melt. : )

Awesome blog. A friend of mine from long ago was an ER doc, and I used to pester him for stories all the time. Now I get to pester you: Keep ‘em coming.

kids are so dumb.

The whole “tastes nasty” thing doesn’t work well with kids, I’ve seen kids who’ve chugged bleach and white spirit.

That is only part of what is terrible about the presentation of two year olds. They can’t even reliably tell you what is bothering them. It is like a game of charades.

What exactly is “fishbowl cleaner”? As a keeper of tropical fish and invertebrates daily since 2005, I have never heard of “fishbowl cleaner”. You should never, ever put soap or any other chemicals in the bowl to cleanit. Use a vinegar solution for stubborn calcifications.
Did you mean “fish water dechlorinator”? That’s the stuff that removes chlorine from the water to make it fish safe.

Yes, I stand corrected.

So what do you do then? Give the kid some Clorox to balance it out?
